Amy Schimler-Safford has illustrated many notable books for children, including Inky’s Great Escape: How a Very Smart Octopus Found His Way Home, Hidden City: Poems of Urban Life, and At the Pond. She started her career in fabric design and now illustrates children’s books full time. After growing up in Miami, she recently relocated from the Southeast to the Pacific Northwest and enjoys living near the ocean once again. An upcoming title that she just finished illustrating is Thank You, Old Oak ~ due to be released in the Fall of this year. Jonah will read a single story from their debut monster story collection, Moss-Covered Claws, four times on the half hour—accompanied by a monster puppet that sits ‘round their shoulders. Moss-Covered Claws, the debut short story collection from fantasy author Jonah Barnett, is filled with tales of anxiety-feeding demons, anti-fascists that travel dimensions, and the vengeful spirits of dead seabirds.
